This was conceived with the aim to test the reaction of people. We took some old products that we retired from some of our stockist and we decided to give them away.
To bring objects to the people, we determine that the best way was to create an art installation (nothing complicated), using tape to paste them in a structure near a crowded spot in Santiago/Chile. Because they will be pasted with tape, it would be an easy task to take the tape, and leave no marks in the structure, as other installations such as painting or pasting posters.
In our naive mind we thought that people would be happy and take the gift we were offering them, but the reality was other. They did take the Ensambles, but instead of adopting them and be happy, they throw them to the floor and smash them and tear them apart.

Pd: for some strange reason the only one that was not present with the smashed ones, was the Ensamble we make for Sony Ericsson.
Pd2: the installation spot was located in Pedro de Valdivia with Diagonal Oriente, near the Farmacias Ahumada, in Santiago, Chile.

Some time ago, we were with this crazy idea of developing this “Visible Paper Toy”, that shows the interior anatomy of a character and at the same time it can be change or transformed into a different figure, depending on the design of the template.
For this we set four goals. In the first place, try to emulate this anatomical toys that show the interior of the human body or animal body, but in this case, show the interior of a character that is design in the template.
In second place, and because we tend to be kind of perfectionist, technically speaking, we wanted to create a one piece template, just for the pleasure of creating it, and because the many pieces paper toy templates tend to make the folding and gluing more messy.
In third place, make a toy that can adopt different postures and shapes, depending on the design in the template.
And last but not least, create union points so you can ensemble this figure with another one of them and at the same time, be compatible with the primordial figure of Proyecto Ensamble. This way we respect the concept of “ensemble”.
Technically speaking, this toy has hinges, paper hinges obviously, that gives the characteristic of showing its interiors, and also gives the ability of transformation and to adopt different postures. Coming to this solution was an ambitious task, because so far, nobody has done nothing hingable in the paper toy world and that have the ability to pass from one state to another.

This is a happy ensembled greeting for this 2011 Christmas. We greet and invoke the great Bacchus for all this next year. Merry Christmas!!!!

For the new unfolded pack that is pretty cool because it has a unique shape and because you can use it as a coloring book, we design a new label system that pretends to unify and clarify the information of the product.
Starting by identifying the product for what it is “The Toyzine”, because is a periodic publication with the shape of a toy (actually a paper toy) that innovating gives information of the artist and exhibits his art. In other hand, the project settle their bases on coolness, love for design objects and the work of artists/designers, so it’s gonna be normal that you see the label and all the pack smiling at you from a showcase or storefront, happy to be what it is. Also it includes technical info about the series number and the artists participating in them, also keeping the color code for the past labels but reinforced.
All the series in existence to the moment have been included in this new system, so you can found SERIES 1 (yellow); SERIES 2 “The Kol of Nikodemus” (cyan); SERIES 3 “Mexico” (red) and the mini series Symbionts (Black)

For those of you that argue that your ensambles fly away or that they brake, here we have some bullet proof Ensambles. The fabulous resin ensambles!!.

We’ve noticed the lack of space in our era, in the one that humans have super multiplied and occupy almost every space with their celestial presence. This phenomenon has taken the human homes to be more expensive and with even less interior space, so the average human suffers from thinking in all the things that want to have but he could not because of space.
But now to have Ensambles will not be an issue! With the new method that we proposed, you will be able to decorate and at the same time have them flying around the house. Just as you see in the photos.

Follow the following instructions and you could be delighted with your new flying decorative toy.

1- Ingredients: Fishing thread; Proyecto Ensamble mini series Symbionts pack; scissors.
2- We will use the pieces of the Mini series Symbionts that are the thickest pieces of Ensambles that exists, and as they are silkscreen printed they are heavier than the rest and they fit better.

3-Ensemble each piece with the others as indicated in the figure.

4- Proceed with the next parallel figure to the previous figure as indicated in the image.

5- Cut a generous portion of fishing thread (depending on the height that will be your sculpture).

6- Fold the fishing thread to achieve the square (reef) knot.

7- Put the thread (double) around the figures to tight the knot as shown on the image.

8- TaDa! the silkscreen printed mini sculpture is ready to cheer up your most precious corner in your home.

Note1: Don’t hang the mobile at your head height or your rooms mate head height, so you don’t have surprising art attacks. Put above human height or near corners, windows and spaces were no one circulates. This way they don’t bother, last longer and looks really cool.
Note2: the proposed model is just an example, you can do your own creations even joining more that 3 pieces.
